Parallel bars and rehab stairs for physiotherapy

For gait training — adjustable height is the minimum

Parallel bars for gait training need adjustable height and width. Height follows the patient's greater trochanter and width follows the hips, and a clinic's diary runs from a teenager to a 6'3" (1.90 m) adult. Fixed bars only suit the average patient.

On a corner staircase, check for handrails on both sides and a step close to a real one at home, 6 to 7 in (15–18 cm). The goal is to return the patient to the step they will meet in the street; a step that is too low trains a movement that does not exist outside the clinic.
