How to document TENS and EMS parameters

Frequency, pulse width, time and electrode placement: without these numbers in the note, the next session starts from zero and a colleague cannot repeat the treatment.

What to look at before buying electrotherapy (tens)

Criteria from someone who uses it with patients, not from someone who only sells it.

FDA clearance and independent output channels are the minimum for clinical use. A good share of the generic marketplace units are home-use devices: fine for the patient to take home, not a replacement for the unit in your treatment room.

Look at the price of replacement electrodes — that is where cheap turns expensive. A bargain unit whose pads cost a third of its price at every change is not a bargain.
